Altar Boyz
Its a play! Its
a concert! Its Nunsense meets N-Sync! Its Altar Boyz, the
Catholic boy band on a mission: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan & Abraham. They aim to save
souls with hot pop songs, glorious voices, and killer choreography. Matthew is the
dreamboat leader of the group. Mark is the sensitive one. Luke is the streetwise B-boy who
has a little trouble staying on the Path. Juan is the Latin hottie in search of his
long-lost parents. And Abraham is Jewish. (Whats he doing in a Christian boy band?
God only knows.) They are fierce in their spiritual mission and, though there is much
humor resulting from their naïve fervor, they are utterly sincere and their message is
all about the power of love, acceptance
and really great hair. Songs: God Put the
Rhythm in Me; Girl, You Make Me Want To Wait; La Vida Eterna; Everybody Fits in Gods
Great Family.

Archy and Mehitable
A typewriter clatters away at midnight in a deserted newspaper office as
archy, the cockroach with the soul of a free-verse poet, pounds out his poems by diving
onto the keys. He writes about the denizens of Shinbone Alley: Broadway the Lightning Bug;
Tyrone T. Tattersall, the actor cat; Big Bill the Tomcat; and the Ladybugs (Who
Arent Exactly Ladies). But mostly he writes about his friend Mehitabel, a feline
fatale who believes herself to be Cleopatra reincarnated, but still cant seem to say
no to a tomcat. This charming, sophisticated and inventive musical is based on
the poems of Don Marquis. Its a gem of a show featuring eccentric characters, a
witty script by Mel Brooks, a Gershwin/Bernstein-inflected score and lots of delightful
singing and dancing.

Dancing at Lughnasa
An extraordinary play, Brian Friel's masterpiece propels you into the
lives of five unmarried sisters, one with a young son, sho celebrat the everyday miracles
they somehow create in their small Irish village in 1963. It is the time of the
festival of Lughnaza, the celebration of the harvest and of better times to come.
Brief colorful bursts of music from the radio are the sisters link to romance and
hope. When they begin to dance to a wild, pagan Irish tune, they embody the core of
the human spirit that cannot be vanquished by time or loss.
