A unique experience for the whole family. Free tours and hearing ear dog demonstrations
are available, along with small souvenirs for purchase.
The Dogs for the Deaf foundation rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to act as the
eyes and the ears of people who have hearing complications. At the Dogs for the Deaf Camp,
dogs learn to respond to household sounds such as smoke alarms, doorbells, etc. in order
to assist the daily living of those who are hearing impaired. After 4-6 months of vigorous
training, the dogs are placed nationwide with qualified candidates.
